I used to keep a blog fairly regularly on myspace. You remember myspace, right? It was this nifty little social networking site that all the cool guys and gals were on back in the day. "The day," of course, being circa 2005. Can you believe that was 5years ago already? I feel like Y2K and the surrounding drama was just a year or so ago, and here we are in 2010! So to celebrate a new decade and, in many ways, a new me, I am going to attempt to start a new blog.
In the past, my blogs may have leaned towards being cynical, sarcastic, and pessimistic. I can confess that I still have tendencies towards seeing things not through rose-colored glasses, but instead through dung-colored ones...but I've done a lot of work on myself so that I can now remove those glasses and see reality a bit more clearly. My goal for this new start is to try too look for the positive...to be thankful for those blessings I have, and even to be thankful for the challenges and disappointments that continually shape who I am.
I recently posted on Facebook: "So far, 2010, I am not impressed. Is this the best you got?" Somehow I had built this new year/new decade up in my mind to be some amazing thing that would almost instantaneously shift my life from where it is to where I want it. I have of course realized that this shift is up to me, and I AM ready for the challenge.
I'm going to post a few more blogs today to let you all know what I've got in the works...and then hopefully I'll update on a fairly regular(ish) basis!
